A national charity were upgrading from various office software products which had been acquired throughout the years to MS Office as the standard for all their employees at the county office. They needed to train all their staff in the use of these packages, and needed a comprehensive training program to be put together, to be delivered on their own site.
the process
As a first step, we consulted the charity on the tasks that each member of staff would need to carry out, and then issued detailed questionnaires to assess the ability and knowledge of each member of staff against these required tasks. From this, we were able to draw up a program of training courses, with the topics for each course tailored to meet the needs of each of the delegates. This included not only the standard "how-to-do" range of topics, but also a conversion program from the "old" to the "new" packages for items such as mail-merge, tables etc.
the outcome
The outcome for the company was that the transition to the new software was easily handled, and virtually seamless, and all of the staff were taught the correct and most efficient ways of performing their key tasks, and improving their efficiency.
